Fur

I went to the mall last Friday. There's all this fur everywhere. Fur trimmed collars, boots, everything.

This is my lovingly-delivered message to those who buy fur. You pay people to do this for you.

These animals are having a great time in their fashionable leg hold traps:

But it's ok if the animals are specially raised for it. They don't know any better. They're happy enough.

It would be a shame to let that pretty fur go to waste by leaving it on a dumb animal.

Dogs

(in China, dogs and cats are often used for fur and it is relabeled for US sale. The same thing happens with dogs and cats used for leather. There's no way for a consumer to tell without a DNA test.)

But free range animals die happy!

Animals on fur farms are genitally and anally electrocuted. Sometimes they are only stunned and then get skinned alive.

If this makes you uncomfortable, it is only because I'm a whack-job vegan activist. It has nothing to do with something being deeply fucked up about the fur trade. I'm the crazy one.

Really.

When I was little i used to cut my my barbies hair and try to shave their legs with a razor. Their skin would get all peely and so I'd just pretend they had skin disease. I guess barbie had it coming.
